Turning a public Instagram Reel into text only takes a few steps. Here is the whole process.
The quick version
- Open the Reel and tap Share → Copy link.
- Paste the link into the Instagram transcript tool.
- Press Transcribe, wait for processing, and copy the text — or download it.

Getting the link right
The link has to point at a public Reel. If the account is private, or the Reel is only in a Story, the tool can't reach it. Use the Copy link option rather than a screenshot of the URL bar — Instagram's share link is the one that resolves cleanly.
