Copyright & DMCA Policy
Effective Date: June 20, 2026 Last Updated: June 20, 2026
About This Policy
ReelTranscript is a tool that transcribes publicly accessible social media videos upon user request. We do not host, store, or distribute source video or audio content. A transcript is retained only when a signed-in user explicitly saves it to a private Library.
Nevertheless, we respect intellectual property rights and provide a process for copyright owners to report concerns.
1. What We Do and Don't Store
- We do not store video files.
- We retain uploaded audio only temporarily for transcription and delete it after processing; abandoned uploads are automatically expired.
- We store transcript text and its source URL only after an explicit Save to Library action.
- Saved Library items are private to the account and can be deleted by the user.
- We also store IP-based rate-limiting counters and subscription records.
We can remove a saved Library item or block a source URL when a valid infringement report identifies material processed through the Service.
2. Copyright Infringement Reporting
If you believe that ReelTranscript is being used to infringe your copyright, or if you believe our service itself infringes your rights, please contact our designated copyright agent:

3. Our Response
Upon receipt of a valid copyright notice, we will acknowledge receipt within 5 business days, review the claim and investigate, and if warranted, take appropriate action, which may include blocking specific URLs from being processed by our service.
4. Counter-Notification
If you believe material was wrongly removed or access was wrongly disabled, you may submit a counter-notification to copyright@reeltranscript.com including:
- Your physical or electronic signature.

5. Repeat Infringers
In accordance with the DMCA, we maintain a policy to terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts or access of repeat infringers.
6. Terms of Service Relationship
Our Terms of Service require users to ensure they have the legal right to transcribe content they submit. Users who violate this requirement are solely responsible for resulting legal claims.
